Tū Manawa Active
Aotearoa Funding
Tū Manawa Active Aotearoa is a fund that helps tamariki, rangatahi and tāngata whaikaha access quality play, active recreation and sport - in ways that reflect who they are and where they live.
Tuia Waitākere partners with Aktive, Auckland's Sport and Recreation organisation, to locally manage the Tū Manawa Fund across West Auckland, on behalf of Ihi Aotearoa | Sport New Zealand.
Our role is to make funding clear, accessible and community-led.
Who the fund is for
Who can apply
Tū Manawa supports:
- Tamariki (5–11 years)
- Rangatahi (12–18 years)
- Tāngata whaikaha (5–18 years, including those in school up to age 21).
Funding can support play, recreation and sport opportunities that happen in communities, schools, kura and local spaces.
Tū Manawa prioritises:
- children and young people (5–18) in underserved communities
- girls and young women (5–18)
- disabled children and young people (5–18).

Why this fund matters
